First Step: The Initial Consultation

Before we even begin your maternity studio session, we’ll have a phone consultation. This conversation will allow us to discuss your vision and goals for your maternity session. Afterwards, we'll have a better understanding of what you’re looking for and you’ll be provided with more insight into our collaborative process.

This is also a great time to talk about when to schedule your maternity studio session. We typically recommend booking your session between 28 and 34 weeks of pregnancy. This is usually when your bump is beautifully round, but you’re still feeling comfortable. That said, we know every pregnancy is unique, and we’re happy to work with you to find the timing that feels just right for you.

Time to Get Ready!

Now that we’ve gotten to know each other a little more and we’ve gone over the process, it’s time for the best part! Getting ready! All styling, wardrobe changes, and maternity studio sessions take place in the comfort of our cozy Walnut Creek studio and last about 3 hours.

Capture Your Maternity Studio Session

This is where the magic happens! Now that you not only feel amazing, but you also look amazing, it’s time to capture the perfect shots! We’ll guide you through the poses, and make your maternity studio session as fun and effortless as possible.

During your session, we’ll work through 4–6 different setups, each carefully styled to create its own unique look and feel. From lighting and poses to wardrobe and backdrops, every setup is designed to bring variety and showcase different aspects of your journey into motherhood.

If you’d like, your spouse and children are more than welcome to join you for one of the setups. Including your loved ones in your maternity studio session is a beautiful way to celebrate this special time together. And the perfect way to capture the connection and excitement your growing family shares. It not only adds depth to your gallery but also creates meaningful memories you’ll cherish for years to come.

Create a Gallery of Printed Photos

This is truly our favorite part of the entire process! Two to three weeks after your maternity studio session, the anticipation builds as we meticulously select and refine the most beautiful images. We then send you a carefully curated proofing gallery, showcasing a narrowed-down selection of images that beautifully capture this special time.

Following your review of the proofing gallery, we'll schedule a personalized ordering appointment right here in our comfortable studio. This is a collaborative and exciting step where we sit down together to create a custom package of pictures. We'll guide you through various options, from stunning wall art and elegant albums to keepsake boxes and digital collections, all designed to perfectly complement your home and lifestyle.
